DIY The Grinch Ornament Craft
The live action Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas is my favorite holiday movie. I watch it multiple times during the Christmas season and fall in love with it over and over again. It’s such a great story with how he realizes the true meaning of Christmas and his heart grows!
I knew I had to make something inspired by the movie to hang on our tree and came up with this super simple craft. If you have 5 minutes and a few materials, you can make one too!
Here’s what you need to make your own The Grinch Growing Heart Ornament:
How to Make The Grinch Growing Heart Ornament
When I say this will take 5 minutes, I’m not exaggerating! This is the easiest craft anyone can do. It’s even perfect for toddlers and preschoolers because it’s mess-free. You don’t need any scissors, glue or anything extra.
- Start with a clear plastic ornament ball and carefully remove the top silver piece.
- Fill the ball with green poms in any size you like.
- Choose a few heart stickers in different sizes and arrange from biggest to smallest. I did 3 stickers for mine but you can do more if you want.
- Place the biggest foam heart on the ball first and then continue adding hearts in from bigger to smaller.
- Add the top silver piece back on the ball and hang on your Christmas tree!
Isn’t this the cutest ornament?! I am obsessed with how great this looks on the tree and how easy it is to make.
Use this idea if you’re hosting a Christmas playdate or party with a lot of kids. They will love making their own ornaments and it’s very low prep for you. Which also makes this an excellent classroom activity. Teachers, give this a try if you’re doing a Grinch themed day at school or if you’re reading the book in class. Then, you can use the ornaments to decorate your class or send them home with your students.
