Easy Thanksgiving Craft Idea – Mini Planter Turkey
Wow your friends and family with this adorable Thanksgiving craft. Make these mini planter turkeys to give as gifts or use as place cards for the holiday. They’d make the perfect little treats for teachers, co-workers, neighbors, and friends. The best part is people can eat the treats inside and then reuse the planter. I’d totally use it for a little plant!
Let’s get into the DIY!
Materials Needed
- Mini planter/pot
- Faux Fall leaves
- Googly eyes
- Foam sheets
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- Mini treats
How to Make a Mini Planter Turkey
- Begin by hot gluing fall leaves to one side of the planter. This will be the back of the turkey as the leaves will be its “feathers”. Depending on the size of the leaves, you may need to trim them.
- Hot glue googly eyes to the front.
- Cut out a triangle and wattle shape from yellow and red foam sheets and hot glue to the front as well.
- Fill the planter with mini treats like M&Ms or Candy Corn. If giving as a gift, you can put the treats into small clear baggies to keep them fresh.
That’s it! You’re ready to give as gifts or use on your Thanksgiving table.
Isn’t this the cutest little turkey craft?! I can’t get over how adorable this is. There’s just something about mini things that get to me and I have to have it!

Easily turn these into place cards by hot gluing a mini clothespin to the back of the leaves and clipping the place card on there. Replace the candies, fill the planter with tiny rocks, sand, tissue paper, any filler you have on hand. Add a craft stick inside and hot glue the place card to it.
However you decide to use these mini planter turkeys, I hope you love this idea for Thanksgiving! If you recreate this, share it on social media and tag me so I can see it! Find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
