Once you have your template, color each piece to your liking. My son chose to keep traditional colors for authenticity. He really loves the real ones at Disney and was so excited to have his own.
Next, carefully cut out each piece. The mouth is the trickiest part because of the tiny details. It’s okay if it’s not perfect, just make it your own. If you have smaller kids who can’t cut on their own yet, let them color and you do the cutting. Another option is to print out the template on color paper instead of white. This way you can just cut out the pieces and give them to your child to put them together.
Last step is to glue the pieces together to make your Mickey Pumpkin! This is my favorite part and my son loved it too.
What’s great about this simple craft is you can customize it in many ways. Here are just a few ideas. Turn it into a play-dough mat by laminating the completed Mickey Pumpkin. Then, give your child play-dough and let them create different faces on it. You can also use the template to make these out of sturdy card-stock or chipboard. Then, create Disney Fall themed decor for your home! Instead of letting your kids color, do it yourself and make it fancy. Pop it in a nice frame and hang up your art!
