My blog turned 2 years old recently and I can’t believe it! I’ve really loved creating this community on here and on my social media where I can share my struggles, triumphs and crazy life with so many of you. To celebrate Simply Bessy turning 2, I had a little party with some of my favorite local bloggers.
*Thank you so much The Wharf Miami for sponsoring this event in Miami’s premier outdoor event space.
When I first visited The Wharf I knew immediately it would be the perfect place to get together with friends. With it’s prime location, water side views, bars and multiple food vendors, The Wharf is a must do in Miami.
I love how it’s family friendly during the day but also turns into a hot spot at night. There’s something for everyone and I knew my blogging friends and I would have a great time! It’s also already such a beautiful place, there’s no need for extra decor and the lighting is perfection.
Let’s get into the party!
We were seated right next to the water and the day was absolutely beautiful. Right when we sat down it was time for The Wharf’s famous mojito pitchers to start things off!
The mojitos were so refreshing and hit the spot on that nice sunny Miami afternoon! We also later tried the special Wharflada, a freshly cored pineapple piña colada served with fresh pineapple puree, 2 shots of rum and a rum floater. It got us all in party mode!
We didn’t just have delicious drinks though, the food was also amazing and we savored every single bite. The Wharf Miami is home to 8 food vendors serving everything from doughnuts to tacos.
First we started with some Cuban Sandwich Spring Rolls from OG Ceviche Seafood Shack.
Then they brought us Marco Polo Pizza from Spris Artisan Pizza. This was my first time trying anything other than traditional pizza toppings and it did not disappoint! Marco Polo Pizza contains tomato, mozzarella, chicken topped with daikon, cabbage, carrots, arugula salad and light spicy “marco polo” sauce.
After that it was time for some specialty options from Cracked by Chef Adrianne. We had Parmesan Truffle Fries, “Off the Cob” Elote, Peperonni Pizza Cheese Fries, and Nutella Churros. Our mouths were watering just looking at this food on the table!
As a blogger, I’m usually at my computer or behind a phone screen most of my day so when I get a chance to meet friends in person I’m all in. It was important to me to gather a group of local bloggers I’ve connected with and have become my real life friends. We had a great time chatting about our jobs, motherhood, life and enjoyed the ambiance at The Wharf.
I know my blog is only 2 years old and that’s a random number to celebrate but I felt compelled to do something and make it a big deal. I’ve worked hard the last couple of years and plan to work even harder this year. Sharing that with some other local bloggers made everything worth it. All of us are in this together supporting one another and helping each other succeed!
It doesn’t hurt that all these women are beautiful inside and out and every time we hang out I leave with a burst of energy!
