Zoo Miami is the largest and oldest zoological garden in Florida and a definite favorite for my family. We love visiting the Zoo and try to go as much as we can.
Whether you’re going for your first time or you have a yearly zoo membership, here are 5 must do’s you can’t miss out on.
1. Florida: Mission Everglades
This is the newest exhibit in the zoo and it’s amazing. We love seeing the birds, gators, otters and so many other animals. There’s also a big playground with a water play area and a new restaurant with healthy food options. One of my kids’ favorite things to do here is go down the slide in the otter tank and walk through a tunnel where the crocodile is!
2. Giraffe Feeding
We’ve done this a few times and just can’t get enough of it! The giraffes are so friendly and it’s so special to be able to feed them up close.
3. Ocean Voyage Splash Pad
This is my kids’ favorite thing to do during the summer months to cool off. We start our visit at the splash pad and then walk around seeing the animals and drying off with the sun. The splash pad has 28 features including water shooting canons, whale trail waterfall, touch-activated water spraying rods.
4. Monorail
When you’re ready to take a break from walking, grab the monorail and enjoy an aerial view of the zoo. It’s only $5 per person for an all day pass and has four convenient stops throughout the zoo. You can hop and off to explore at your own pace or ride just for fun.

5. Lostman’s River Ride
Located in Mission Everglades, this slow moving ride will take you on a tour of the exhibit. Beware, you will get SOAKED towards the end but it’s a nice way to cool off on a hot day.

Are you ready to visit Zoo Miami? Make sure to do everything on my list and I guarantee you’ll have a great time!
XO,
Bessy
