Spring is in the air and it’s time to get outdoors and do all the fun things! There’s so much to love about Spring like the beautiful weather, flowers blooming, birds chirping, and even spring cleaning. It’s the time of year everything feels fresh and new and I am here for all of it.
This year I wanted to try something different and hopefully turn it into a yearly tradition. We’re doing a Spring Bucket List!

Spring Bucket List
So, what’s so special about a Spring Bucket List anyway? Well, it’s a fun way to challenge yourself or your family to try new things and experiences. It’s also a great way to revisit old experiences and make then new! I made sure to add things that are kid-friendly and we all do together. This is very important for making those special memories!
Alright now let’s dive into what’s on the list. (Click on the image to download FREE Printable)
Fly a kite – I can’t remember the last time I did this and it’s such a staple.
Go on a nature walk – you can even do this around your neighborhood!
Make a bird feeder – can be easily made with bird seed and gelatin. I love this bird feeder DIY tutorial from What’s Up Moms.
Blow bubbles – this is a MUST do as soon as the weather is nice out. Fun for all!
Visit the zoo – we are lucky we can do this year round in South Florida but for those that have to brave the harsh winters, take advantage and go during Spring.
Make a rainbow craft – my kids love the colors of the rainbow and making their own rainbow art.
Bird watching – this is actually so relaxing and doubles as an educational activity.
Plant some seeds – stores are stocked with seed kits now and it’s the perfect time to plant some.
Ride a bike – not only is it fun but it’s also much needed physical activity!
Family BBQ – throw some hot dogs and burgers on there and invite some friends over to celebrate the season.
Go to a local fair – we love the Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars and the big slide.
Pick berries – also makes a great educational activity and kids love to eat food they can pick!
Here Comes the Sun (Protection)
With Spring comes a lot more time spent outdoors which means more time under the sun. Notice how almost all of the things on the Spring Bucket List are outdoor activities? It’s important to me that we stay well protected from the sun’s harmful rays so that we can enjoy our time outdoors even more.
I’m always looking for the right products to use on my kids and I’m so happy to have found Blue Lizard Sunscreen. It’s a safe, doctor-trusted, mineral based sunscreen perfect for the whole family to use.
Blue Lizard Sunscreen provides ultimate sun protection without harmful chemicals. It contains no parabens or fragrances and is great for even sensitive skin. They’re also great for the environment with their new “We love the reef” line that doesn’t contain Oxybenzone and Octinoxate – two of the chemicals that harm our beautiful coral reefs.

Encouraging Kids to Apply Sunscreen
Blue Lizard Sunscreen is great for encouraging independence in older kids. One of my favorite features about this sunscreen (and what makes it stand out more) is the smart bottle technology. The bottle actually turns blue when it’s in harmful UV rays so you know you need to apply! How smart is that?!
Since my kids are getting older (soon to be 7 & 9) it’s important they learn to apply their own sunscreen. Of course I’m there to supervise and make sure to get to any areas they miss, but I want them to get into the habit of doing it on their own.
With Blue Lizard bottles, we make it a game and if the bottle is blue that means it’s time to apply! The boys love it and it makes them feel like real “big kids” doing it themselves. Win win for me!
As a mom one thing I always hated about sunscreen is how sticky icky it can get, how strong it can smell and how long it takes to dissolve into the skin. I don’t have to worry about any of these issues with Blue Lizard Sunscreen. It melts right into the skin seamlessly, doesn’t feel sticky at all and there’s no fragrance.
I even use the kids’ stuff myself! But, they do have 9 different formulas available from baby to sport so there really is something for everyone. Blue Lizard Sunscreen is a must have for Spring and staying protected from the sun. I always have a bottle in my bag ready to go!
